Plans have been lodged for the first 800-plus homes in the Bulimba Barracks redevelopment at Bulimba in Brisbane’s east.
It will involve two apartment buildings of up to three storeys comprising 69 one, two and three-bedroom units.
The residential development will occupy a 6,382sq m part of the 20ha formal naval base, next to a heritage-listed fabrication workshop, which is expected to be transformed into the precinct’s focal point housing retail and other community amenities.
This latest development application follows plans submitted in April for more than 500 metres of public space along the Brisbane riverfront, including a network of walkways and cycleways, a shipyard-themed playground, covered picnic areas, a viewing deck and grass fields for the site.
