Capalaba could have a new town centre if a $250 million project is given the go ahead.
The project, situated on a 1.55ha site behind the Capalaba Central Shopping Centre, would include restaurants, a new library, a village green, arts centre, community hall and better public transport, with the existing Capalaba Bus Interchange to be upgraded.
Council has recently signed a development agreement for the project, which could start as soon as 2023.
