A South Brisbane building could be the new performance and training centre for the Brisbane Bullets after a development application was lodged to repurpose the property and turn it into an indoor sports complex.
The proposal is to make use of the existing building at 62 Merivale Street, which was previously home to a café, clothing store and Asian supermarket, but to make some alterations to both the exterior and interior.
While the property would not be demolished, there would be some demolition, with the roof also raised on part of the building to accommodate a basketball court.
The facility would also have shooting bays, a dribble court, gym and physio room, change room, players’ lounge, kitchen, recreation rooms, laundry, reception, meeting rooms, merchandise shop, workstations and offices.
