The ANFE Italian Club in Brisbane is set to move to a new home, after having to move from its previous home at 10 Wyandra Street in Newstead, where it had been for 40 years.
The club has lodged a development application to retrofit a property that was formerly a gym, at 429 Stafford Road in Stafford, opposite Stafford City Shopping Centre and Stafford Bunnings.
The retrofit would accommodate the functional operational requirements of the Italian club, including a kitchen and dining hall. The premises would also have a memorial site for Italian ex-servicemen, a sports lounge, bar and recreational Bocce room, as well as 17 car parking spaces.
The Italian Club is seeking to operate from Monday to Sunday, open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 7am to 11pm Friday and Saturday.
If given the go ahead, it is hoped the club will open by mid 2024.
