Cleveland’s Grand View Hotel is set to be refurbished if a development application for the upgrade is approved.
The existing heritage hotel building at 45-51 North Street, which is 160 years old, will remain intact, according to the plans.
However, the beer garden will be overhauled, with the outdoor structure, including two pergolas, a marquee and carport to be demolished to make way for a new bar, lawn and kids’ playground.
The drive-through bottleshop on the western side of the hotel will also be converted into a cool room and storage area.
If it goes ahead this will be a drawcard for families, particularly with new amenity on offer for children.
