A Guzman Y Gomez restaurant could open on the corner of Gympie Road and Wallace Street in Chermside on Brisbane’s north if a development application is given the go ahead.
The 245sq m restaurant with drive through would be located at 672 and 678 Gympie Road and 8 Wallace Street.
Previously, a Slim’s Quality Burger Restaurant was planned for the site, but with this not proceeding, Guzman Y Gomez is now seeking approval, with changes required to the existing development approval to facilitate its requirements.
The Guzman Y Gomez restaurant would be oriented towards the rear of the site, with car park – catering for 19 vehicles – on the corner of Gympie Road and Wallace Street corner.
The redevelopment would require the existing commercial buildings, hardstand area and dwelling on the Gympie Road site to be demolished to facilitate the proposal.
