The Sherwood Central retail centre on Sherwood Road in Sherwood could be expanded and upgraded if a development application is approved.
Plans for the existing centre, which is more than 20 years old, include an expansion of the current retail and dining offer, including doubling the size of the Woolworths supermarket to provide a full line grocery offer and direct to boot collection service.
There will also be an improvement in the specialty store tenancy mix, with an increase in the number of car parking bays and the addition offices and suites on the upper level of the complex.
The upgrade of the centre would provide much-needed greater choice for a growing population of local shoppers and an improvement to the aesthetics of the area.
