A new childcare centre proposed for Wynnum would become one of the area’s largest if it is approved by council and provide greater supply.
The two-storey childcare centre development at 238 – 242 Bay Terrace would be run by Building Futures Montessori and incorporate the existing heritage-listed former Wynnum Presbyterian Church, while a house on the site would be demolished to make way for the project.
The completed centre would have a 1,083sq m footprint and cater for 145 children. It would offer two elevated outdoor play areas, with areas of undercover play and eight activity rooms, along with 29 car parks.
Operating hours would be from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
