Brisbane Buyers Agent First Home Buyer Insights – What’s happening in Inala – Development approved for former skate rink but yet to start construction

As a top Brisbane buyers agent, we’ve always got our finger on the pulse of the Brisbane property market. Check out what’s happening in Inala.

A new development has been approved for an old skate rink site in Brisbane’s southwest, but construction is yet to start.

The property at 54 Serviceton Road in Inala, which has been abandoned and derelict for around 15 years, was approved for a multi-purpose development in 2019.

The development on the 6,058sq m was set to include a gym, retail space, a grocery store and potentially a medical centre over several commercial buildings, with hundreds of car parking spaces. It could also potentially include a sport and recreational facilities.

The Inala site dates back to 1959 when it was a hive of activity as a skate rink, but it has been vacant since 2007.

Residents are very keen to see a development take shape on the site, and it would be hugely beneficial for the suburb to see the site revitalised. It is rumoured construction will start soon, but this is yet to be confirmed.
