Buyers Agent Brisbane First Home Buyer Insights – What’s happening in Thornlands – $70m shopping centre planned for family-friendly suburb

As a top Brisbane buyers agent, we’ve always got our finger on the pulse of the Brisbane property market. Check out what’s happening in Thornlands.

A development application has been lodged for a $70 million shopping centre in Thornlands, on Brisbane’s bayside, southeast of the city.

To be called Paradise Garden Shopping Village, the centre, on the corner of Boundary Road and Panorama Drive, will have an agriculture theme in homage to its history. It was previously used for farming purposes, before becoming home to a local landmark, known as the ‘Round Shop’.

The development proposal for the 7,750sq m retail centre includes a full-line supermarket, specialty stores, service station, medical centre, tavern and alfresco dining options, in addition to a 1.4ha neighbouring parkland for community use.

If it gets the go ahead, the shopping centre will start construction in late 2021.

The development is designed with the community in mind and will be family friendly, appealing to the growing population in the area, where there has been many housing developments in recent years.
