A $20 million multipurpose indoor sports facility is being constructed at Iona Catholic College in Wynnum West with an expected completion date of May next year.
The building, known as ‘The Provence Centre’ will host signature sporting events, as well as college and community events and gatherings.
It can provide 2000 seats with tiered seating and will feature a perimeter running track, general learning areas, staff rooms, canteen facilities, change rooms, amenities and breakout spaces.
The facility, which has reportedly been years in the making, will add significant amenity to both the school community and the public with provision for community events, and will be a drawcard for residents, particularly young families and first homebuyers looking for good schools.
