A four tower medical precinct is planned for a new business park near the Inner City Bypass in Bowen Hills on the fringes of the Brisbane CBD.
A development application has been lodged for the 12,611sq m site between 12 and 16 Thompson Street, for one 14-storey tower and three 8-storey towers with the development providing 800sq m of green area with a rooftop garden, solar panels and charging stations for electric cars.
The private development is said to be aiming to provide public benefit in the post-coronavirus recovery, by providing health services, construction and employment. Greater amenity – particularly medical amenity in the post COVID world – is a good thing for residents and will benefit the residents of Bowen Hills and surrounds, as long as traffic is managed well.
