As a top Brisbane buyers agent, we’ve always got our finger on the pulse of the Brisbane property market. Check out what’s happening in Yarrabilba.

A new high school run by Brisbane Catholic Education will open next year in Yarrabilba, south of Brisbane in Logan City.

San Damiano College, located at Yarrabilba Drive and Woodward Avenue, will look very different to a traditional school, having been designed to model the Franciscan tradition, based on the Italian town of Assisi in Italy. It will offer both academic and vocational pathways and will include both indoor and outdoor lessons.

The co-educational school, which sits on 5.8 hectares within a broader 32 hectare educational and sporting precinct as part of the matserplanned design of Yarrabilba, is now taking enrolments.

Construction started in March this year, and includes the first three buildings, with more to come in future stages. There will be three year 7 classes next year of 25, and the college will continue to expand each year until 2026 when it will have around 1100 students and the first cohort of Year 12 students will graduate.

Any new school – particularly those that are unique – will draw residents in to an area. This area in particular may appeal to families and first homebuyers, due to affordability.
