A new classroom building will be built at the St Pius Catholic School in Banyo following development approval from council.
The circa 500sq m two-storey building will replace an existing aged classroom block located near the north western end of the primary school campus with frontage to Apperley Street. It will add around 75.2sq m of gross floor area to the school.
The development approval for the school, situated on a 1.84ha site at 348 St Vincents Road, also includes a minor library extension and a new walkway and ramp.
This improved amenity to the school will be a drawcard for young families to the area looking for good schools for their children, which will boost demand for property in Banyo.
